Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind

Saw Eternal Sunshine [LINK] today and it got me to thinking about what I would have erased from my memory. In the film, Kate Winslet [LINK] and Jim Carrey have each other erased from their memories so they can deal with the pain of the relationship. One does it on a whim after a fight, and the other out of spite because the other did it. I loved the idea behind the film, but I could never have the memory of someone I loved erased from me. Bad or not. The movie portrays it to be just as painful to discover what you’ve done as the pain that got you there in the first place. So, why do it? Although there is one person, when I was a kid, that I’d just soon forget. Adam Curry. You jerk. You and your Evel Knievel [LINK] cape get the erase for all the times you beat me up while I was riding my bike around the block. I think I prefer my Partly Clouded and Spotted mind. It’s a little more interesting.
