We arrived in Ayer’s Rock\/Uluru today on this cool ass plane. It’s painted in aboriginal designs. First on the list was the Sounds of Silence dinner out in the desert. We checked into the hotel and rested a bit before catching the bus out to the “restaurant”. At least that’s what they call it. We watched the sunset and then sat down for dinner and ate barramundi, crocodile, kangaroo, and other assorted critters. It was pretty tasty after a day of travel, and then they blew out all the torches and candles. Then a women came out and gave a star talk under the the biggest dome of stars I’ve ever seen. The tracking telescopes that were set up weren’t quite tracking, but looking at the andromeda galaxy was damn cool. Lot’s of information was thrown out there in a half an hour, but none of it of which I can recall accurately. The Magellanic clouds, The Pleadies, Aurora Australis, etc. Stuff like that. Look ’em up.<\/p>\n
