New Orleans And A Stranger With Gay Porn

[MATT DRESSED UP FOR HALLOWEEN] After all day at the festival and a long wait for a cab last night we awoke late and walked around the Quarter for a bit. Keith and Kyle visited a fairly small internet cafe and the guy next to them was quite busy downloading gay porn. For the whole […]

The Black Crowes At Voodoo Music Experience

The Voodoo Music Festival [LINK] is an all day shindig with 3 stages. There were lots of people goofing about all day, lots of booths to visit and food to eat. Unfortunately the Black Crowes didn’t get a whole set because Snoop Dog decided to hog the stage earlier in the day. I wanted to […]

The Lost Weekend

Matt woke up this morning and wanted boots. He got boots alright.

LAX to New Orleans

Matt Kimball, Steve Bell, Nick Walker and two of Matt’s friends, Keith and Kyle and I, are all meeting up in New Orleans for a weekend of music and drinkin’. Since the 911 attacks they suggested getting to the airport early. I got here way to early.

Harry Potter Wrap Party

Wizardry at the Harry Potter Wrap Party. Ok, so I only shot one photo tonight. At some point in the night I think I forgot I had a camera, and may have even forgotten my name too. After parking at the Hollywood Studios, and waiting in a line for an hour, we caught the bus […]

Imageworks VFX House Bread Bake Off

Sony Imageworks hosting the great bread bake-off. The goal? To try and topple the record of most loaves baked simultaneously at an effects facility. We beat it. Whatever the old record was…? Above center: Some dude thoroughly impressed with the whole event.

Imageworks Street Party

Block off a street, cater some food, add a band, multi-colored spot lights and you have a party. First off, hardly anyone drives on that street, the food was cold, the band sucked and it was still light out so the lights didn’t work very well. Secondly, we couldn’t charge it to Sony as hours […]

The Anyone Den

Riz Story of the band “Anyone.” Other than my family, the person I’ve known longest in my life. Since 1st or 2nd grade. I played in his band for a length of time from ’86 to about ’91. Being a graphic designer payed better than a hired gun guitarist. So it all worked out for […]

Imageworks BBQ

One of the very few perks of working for Sony Pictures Imageworks. A BBQ. Like I said… the food is free. So it’s considered a perk.

Gamble House, Pasadena

For a architecture fans, this is the infamous Gamble House. For movie buffs, this is Doc Brown’s house in the “Back to the Future” movies. It was a free weekend to view historical houses in Pasadena. Normally there’s no line. You have to wear blue booties on your shoes to enter the house. They’re not […]

Shreks’ Opening Weekend

Shrek finally opened! I flew down to L.A. to see it with family and friends at Universal City Walk. It had a $42 mil. dollar opening! All the type A people are in the photo. The type B’s are just off screen.

The Man

Ben came from Australia to work at PDI/DreamWorks. A newspaper back home was doing an article on Shrek and he needed photos to send to them. So we shot some in the lobby and out front. He’s quite purple for some reason.

Point Bonita Lighthouse

I took Mike out hiking to Point Bonita Lighthouse. He complained the whole time. So much for having fun! Ya bastard curmudgeon! It’s only open about 3 hours a day, but fortunately we hit it at the right time. A typically cold and windy day in the Marin headlands. Lot’s of seals down on the […]

Gladstone’s

Kathleen Cohen introduced me to Gladstone’s and we now seem to have lunches there a lot. It’s a beach thing. Sit outdoors, have the sea bass, pay the expensive bill, take your food home in a foil shaped animal and enjoy yourself. Always the best of times.

Steamboat Software Bar-b-que

[PINATA DECAPITATION VIDEO] The day after the layoffs from PDI, I flew down to L.A. to go to a Steamboat Software Bar-b-que and Charlie’s 30th birthday. Also to start looking for a job. No need to lollygag. [LINK] Charlie decapites a bunny pinata that doesn’t even move. Talk about shooting fish in a barrel. It’s […]

Sunset On Xulu

On the roof of the Xulu.com Entertainment, Inc. building in SOMA. Friend Eric is doing some visualization for this entertainment venue company. I went for a visit after work and played some of the games and took in some of the sights from the roof. I even got to meet Iain McCaig. He’s a concept […]

Clouds Of California

I flew down to L.A. to do my taxes and see a friends band “Anyone” at the House of Blues Anaheim. On the way home I was fortunate to have been on a brand new Southwest Airlines airplane. The windows were spotless, and the clouds were amazing that day.

Pacifica Beach

There are 13 years between these photos. I went on a road trip with my friends to Pacifica in 1988, and here I am revisiting it. It’s the first time I’ve been back here since school, and it’s weird to think that I don’t know any of them now. Friends change, sunsets don’t.

Oscar Party

I won the big prize at the Oscar Party! I won $100 for picking the most winners. I rarely lose this game.

Shrek Wrap Party

A wrap party PDI/DreamWorks style. In the parking lot. They really now how to splurge on us after having sweated through two years of work. Factoid: The Shrek Crew Jackets… don’t say crew on them. Thanks a lot.
