Foggy Day

The airport was closed all day because of low clouds. Not a lot to see today, except this float.

The Wellington Zoo

[WELLINGTON ZOO MINI GALLERY] The Wellington Zoo on a cold breezy Sunday. I quickly found out animals do not like cold and breezy Sundays.

Owhiro Bay

Owhiro Bay at the bottom end of the north island. If you look close you can see the interislander ferry as a small white speck. On the horizon, right where the land meets the water on the left hand side.

The Terrace Villas

This is the view from The Terrace Villas [LINK] above Wellington. This view looks a lot nicer than it actually is. I cropped a lot of the ugliness out.

Horokiwi Donkey, And Oh Shit!!!

That’d be a donkey. A Horokiwi donkey to be exact. That’s just the name of the little town I was in. I have no idea what kind of donkey it is. It’s woolly, I know that much. I’m getting good at these animals through fences photos [GOAT PHOTO]. Yep, that’s my car. Yeah, it was […]

Evan’s Bay Rainbow

This is Evan’s bay that I drive by on the way to work. If it’s raining, there’s usually a rainbow there. This is about the fifth one I’ve seen in a week. Need a rainbow photo? Go to Evan’s Bay and wait a few minutes. Camera got rained on. Not good.

Mount Victoria

For about an hour it was sunny so I drove up to the lookout point on top of Mount Victoria. Don’t get me wrong, it was still cold as a toilet seat made of ice. Yeah, yeah, I know it looks like the clouds are smoke from the cannon. Kinda why I took the picture. […]

Porirua Coastline

My first official New Zealand shot. I can now say that I brought to many pairs of shorts to New Zealand. Even funnier is the notion that I brought a swimsuit. Who am I kidding? Look at that. That’s penguin weather. I ventured out to the west coast of NZ today to see some real […]

Santa Monica

So, Santa Monica has the widest and longest sandy beach you could ever imagine, and yet this guy gets his kite caught in the one powerline out there. It just dawned on me today that it’s almost impossible to photograph a sunset over the water in Southern California because most of the beaches face south. […]

It’s A Beautiful Day

Today was one of those days with one cloud in the sky, sparkly blue water, and a fire red sunset. Spent Father’s Day down at my parents and bar-b-queing out on the boat. Cruised around the harbor a bit and just relaxed till I slowly slipped into a food coma. It was a hard day. […]

Shambala Preserve

Can we get a chain put on this or something? Yeah, it’s all nice n’ purdy until the thing starts claiming ownership of your camera bag, bracelet, pant leg, etc. The Shambala Preserve [LINK] is a way station for abused and unwanted big cats set up by the actress Tippi Hedron. Otherwise known as Melanie […]

Fire In Los Angeles

The smog must be rolling in. Ok, it’s smoke from a fire. I was driving through the Kenneth Hahn Recreation area. Lucky him, he gets oil pumps in his park. Other than the smoke it was a nice day. See the big dark blotch in the blue sky. I just discovered I have a cracked […]

Beautiful Corona

Went out for a visit to my sister’s. Affordable homes, lots of land, 3 car garages, easy freeway access, beautiful scenery…. um… ok, that’d be no on the last one. Lovely Corona, California where the hills are not alive with the sound of music. In fact, most times you can’t even see them.

I Can Do That

This photo has motivation. Ever seen those photos of palm trees silhouetted against a sky? Kind of like some of these. [LINK] Friday night at The Grove Jill commented about a photo of palm trees she liked. I boldly stated, “I can shoot one of those, and I don’t even have to leave Park La […]

Vandenberg Air Force Base

Wargames create beautiful sunsets. A Minuteman II missle was launched from Vandenberg AFB tonight. According to the launch schedule the unarmed warhead and decoys were on a ballistic (non-orbital) trajectory to the Pacific. An interceptor launched from Meck Island was to attempt an intercept of the warhead. Remember the acronyms ICBM and MIRV’S? This is […]

Vasquez Rocks

The best picture of the trunk and rear window of my car I’ll ever take. I can stop trying now. Out at Vasquez Rocks on Highway 14. After a quick visit with Charles and Lisa in Burbank I took a little detour up Highway 14 to Vasquez Rocks. I camped here quite a few times […]

Olvera Street

Don’t forget to hang your Jesus crucifix, and make sure there’s one looming over you in every room. It makes it more fun that way. Nothing like a bloodied and dying martyr to cheer up a room. Ok, now that I’ve offended some people, it’s ok, it all ends happily. He comes back a few days later and stuff. You can even bathe or date him now [LINK].

Los Alamitos Race Track

I’d like to think Monica [LINK], somewhere someplace, felt a sharp pain in her stomach everytime I bet that way. I also think she would laugh at me because I lost my money on every race. Listen to your girlfriends, they just might be right.

Imageworks Ski Trip To Mammoth

On the road with Sony’s 4th annual ski trip. Sometimes there’s nothing like watching the world go by the window. All cameras should have a function where you can only shoot photos the hour or two during sunset. I’m sitting with 50 other people on a bus to L.A. and they’re watching a movie. “The […]

The Cold Cold Moon

It was 100 degrees below zero when I shot this. Ok, only 30 below. Running from car to my house, because it was so cold, I looked up and was kinda pissed that the moon looked so spectacular. This photo’s about my freezing ass more than the moon. In the 10 minutes I was in […]
