Santa Fe Artwalk

The Santa Fe Art Colony [LINK] had its annual open studios this weekend. I completely forgot to shoot a photo of the Jett Jackson painting I bought, but I’ll pick it up in two weeks. Jett wanted to keep it so she can get a serigraph edition done for it. Cool, I’ll have the original. […]

Marking Your Territory

The train is picking up steam… The Polar Express: Variety states that producer Steve Bing [LINK] has made “one of the boldest moves ever taken by an independent producer” and personally invested $80 million — reportedly half of the film’s production budget — in Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming children’s fantasy film. Adapted from Christian Van Allsburg’s […]

Cinespia Is Back!

In a nod to L.A., the first screening of the summer at Cinespia [LINK] was Chinatown [LINK]. Hadn’t see in it in about 15 years and it was great. I kept thinking of Blade Runner since their film noir styles are almost identical. I went unprepared without an extra blanket or the candles. By the […]

Punky Brewster, Pizza, Elizabeth Shue’s Butt

[ELIZABETH SHUE”S BUTT VIDEO LINK] So, like Anne Marie and I (who I haven’t seen in over 3 years since we shot this photo at the Metreon in San Francisco [LINK] ) went to the Apple Store today amongst other things, and like oh my God Punky Brewster [LINK] was there! Then later that night […]

The Brewery Artwalk

Jill and I headed over in the rain this morning to hit the Brewery Artwalk [LINK]. It’s a twice annual event at the downtown brewery complex where some of the artists open their studios for you to meet them and see their work. I wanted to get there early so that if anything caught my […]

Six Feet Under = Eighteen Wheel Thunder

Woke up this morning to the sound of trucks and workmen yelling. According to the memo [LINK], “We will be filming in two areas and they are the exterior of the townhouses just south of the Activities Center and then in the meeting room of the Activities Center itself. The approximate hours of filming outside […]

A Beattiely Weekend

Saturday night in Oakland was the 6 hour jam session comprised of me, Keith and Shelli (The Beattieles), Charlie, some pizza and M&M’s, and some other guys that I’ve forgotten their names. I even got to spend some of their money on music stuff, which I love because it’s music shopping yet I don’t have […]

European Vacation 2003

[IRELAND] [LONDON] [BARCELONA] [PRAGUE] Finally finished all the photos and videos for the trip to Europe last Oct/Nov 2003. Ireland, London, and Prague have little video clips I shot along the way to get a vibe. Prague is quite extensive, while Barcelona is quite short as I was only there a few days. You can […]

South Bay Refinieries

Just before midnight I was driving through Carson and decided to check out the oil refinieries [LINK]. They are some of California’s largest and the whole area can process almost a million gallons a day. They always looked like these belching hissing monsters on the side of the highway that I tried to pass as […]

Like “Gigli” Or The Dialogue In “Matrix 2”

Every other day we get some email about what and what not goes into the recycling bins. This is the trash bin, in case anyone was mistaken.

Gehry Does L.A. Right

[WALT DISNEY CONCERT HALL GALLERY]Made my way downtown to check out the still somewhat new Frank Gehry [LINK] designed Disney Concert Hall. [LINK] It’s definitely a photographic dream. The Sydney Opera house looks like an onion splitting open, this looks more like flower petals gone awry. Two different designers yet walking around it has the […]

Smokey Night

2:27am. The Rabbit Moon [LINK] is out [LINK] [LINK]. Not a lot people up right now. After balmy days around here breaking heat records, a cool wispy fog is hugging the city this morning. It’s actually deadened the city’s ambient sound. No white noise other than my refrigerator clicking on and off. Time for some […]

Inside The Head Of Todd Schorr

I went to the Merry Karnowsky Gallery [LINK] on La Brea to look at some paintings by Viktor Koen and ended up with a piece by Todd Schorr. His work is really nuts and has a real fun but evil streak in it. He has a show of original paintings coming up this year that […]

I Love My Office

Nothing quite like looking over your shoulder to see a bunch of grown-ups pressed up against the window gawking at a rainbow. Looked like a bunch of kids waiting for the ice cream truck. So I joined them. Last week we had a major downpour and it flooded an area by my office. Once they […]

Rise Of The Little Gold Men

The little gold men arrived in their spacecraft this week and are all hanging out at the Kodak Theater. They will be performing mind control experiments on viewers for 4 hours next Sunday. Blake Edwards will be receiving the lifetime acheivement Honorary Oscar shown above. It’s the only one engraved because they already know who […]

Melissa Etheridge at The House Of Blues

So last weekend was the gay piano bar, this week was the House Of Blues lesbian bar. I’ll take the piano bar anytime. Good God, because the territorial pissings going on tonight was downright frightening. A fight almost broke out in front of us while some other girls were yelling and screaming something not so nice behind us. There would be no singing “We are Family” tonight for these dolls. Drunk chicks dry humping each other on *my* back. I spilled my drink multiple times.

Going ‘ome

Stayed the night and had breakfast with Keith and Shelli this morning then headed down the peninsula to have lunch with a couple of former work friends. It was pouring rain until the central valley and it completely cleared by Santa Nella. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky when I arrived back in L.A., […]

Call Of The Wild, Mud Puppy’s, Point Isabel And Laci Peterson

Keith, Shelli and I met at Jack’s Bistro [LINK] in Jack London Square for champagne brunch. We tried to ignore the champagne. Two of their friends were also there and I got a bit of pee spam when I went to use the restroom. MTV advertises on the urinal pads. That would suck to get […]

Valentine’s Day

Barbara said I was getting hit on, but I didn’t happen to notice so I think she was bullshittin’. After we left I still thought salmon, mocha and champagne were foods and not colors. So my heterosexuality was intact. And let me tell you about the strength of those Martini’s. I could only speak like Barry White for two days and my normal tone was like Peter Brady and his puberty squeak. we took off for home with what would ultimately be a mind numbing hangover.

Sixth Annual Imageworks Ski Trip

[MAMMOTH GALLERY] [VIDEO LINK] Watching “Big Fish” in the window reflection on the way home from Mammoth. The 6th annual Imageworks ski trip wrapped up Sunday with a quiet ride home. Busted ankles, lost snowboards, jacoozeeing, and snowmobiling were all part of the fun. I am now a snowmobiler. Whatever that means.
